The PTE Academic UKVI is a computer-based, computer-scored test that evaluates four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. It lasts around three hours and gives you a score based on the GSE (Global Scale of English).

The length of the PTE academic exam is being reduced from three hours to a more manageable two hours. It will assess the same English skills, but with fewer questions and the same question kinds.
Along with your PTE academic score report, a new individualized "skills profile" will provide extra comments on your performance and ideas for how to improve.
PTE academic online, a safe version of our exam that you can take on your home computer, allows you to take your English test at any time and from anywhere. Availability is determined by your institution's and country's policies.
PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI examinations will take two hours instead of three hours starting November 16. The general format, question kinds, or scoring system will remain unchanged; there will simply be fewer questions to answer. As a result, you can prepare in the same manner.
Most significantly, the exam is still approved for visa and immigration reasons by all of the same universities and professional organizations – including 3,000+ academic institutions worldwide – as well as the UK, Australia, and New Zealand governments.
