IELTS test fees are different in various countries. The IELTS test fee is the same for Academic as well as General Training. The current cost of IELTS in India is INR 14,700 incl GST.

An individual can register directly at individual test centers. Alternatively, IELTS official website shows available location and dates available to the candidate.
The candidate can contact the test centre where one has booked the IELTS test. If you postpone or cancel your application before 5 weeks of the test date, you will be refunded your test fees minus an administration charge. If you need to postpone or cancel the test within 5 weeks of the test date, you will be charged the full fee unless you have a valid medical reason. If you abstain from exam because of serious medical condition and provide a medical certificate within 5 days of the test date, you will be refundedb minus the local administrative cost. The test centre may offer you a test on the next available test date incase you miss the test due to uncertain circumstances like transport strike.
The Listening, Reading and Writing modules of the test are to be completed back to back without break. You can take the Speaking test up to 7 days prior to or post the test date, depending on the test centre. Many test centres gives you the choice to complete all four components of the test on test day itself or to complete the Speaking component on a different day, depending on your convenience. Listening module is followed by the Reading and Writing module respectively.

Only pens, pencils and erasers. You must carry the same identity card ( Original), which you used on the IELTS Application Form to the test. Everything else is to be left outside the examination room. Mobile phones should be switched off and placed with personal belongings in the area designated to you by the authority. You will be disqualified, incase you are found with mobile phone or any communication device in the test hall
The Speaking test is a recorded test of your discussion over 11-14 minutes with a certified IELTS Examiner. It comprises of three sections.
You must bring the same identity card used on your IELTS Application Form. You will be subjected to identity check before you enter the interview room.
Yes, candidates can write in all capital letters in the IELTS Reading and Listening modules, and is highly recommended. But one should refrain from writing in capital letters in the Writing module.
IELTS uses a 9-band scoring system to report test scores for consistent evaluation. You will receive individual band scores for each of the 4 modules and an Overall Band Score as well between 1-9.
Yes. The people marking your answers to the Listening and Reading questions will not see your question paper.
Pencil is highly recommended for the IELTS Listening and Reading of the test as all of the test centres are upgrading to new scanners which work best with a pencil as there is no risk of your answers.
Test results are made available within 13 calendar days after your test date. Normally you receive only one copy of your Test Report Form, unless you are applying to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), or the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) – in this case, you can receive two. Proof of application to CIC and UKBA must be provided.
There is no time limit on re-applying the test as such. But it is highly recommended to put some additional study hours and practice, with respect to your previous score, before re-appearing for the test again, as you are supposed to pay the fees each time for re-appearing.
Candidates can apply for a re-assessment, also known as an Enquiry on Results, at your test centre within six weeks of the test date. Candidate must pay an enquiry fee, which will be fully refunded if your band score changes. Please note that all IELTS Examiners follow strict assessment guidelines and are regularly monitored. The IELTS testing process has the highest quality control protocols.
